Founding Partner and Managing Director
Sergio Beristain
Attorney with a Master’s degree and more than 48 years of professional practice. He leads the firm’s national and international litigation and arbitration practice, as well as its legal protection advisory work for companies and large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, with extensive expertise in human rights and their progressive development.
His practice focuses on civil, commercial, and criminal law, constitutional relief proceedings (amparo), and arbitration for companies investing in energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and the publishing industry, among others. He advises on the implementation and certification of the National Anti-Corruption System and holds a certification in personal data protection.
He holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), awarded with double honors. He holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from Universidad Panamericana–IPADE and a Master’s degree in Human Rights from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. He got a specialization in constitutional relief proceedings (amparo) before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, as well as in international contracting, commercial arbitration, and natural gas and LNG (liquefied natural gas) contracts before the International Chamber of Commerce, in Mexico and in Paris, among other venues.
He is a graduate professor in the Master’s Program in Corporate Law at Universidad Panamericana–IPADE, where he also advises on energy matters and teaches courses and lectures on the energy sector and its regulatory reforms.
